Time the Shriek threshold

Shriek marks an HP threshold. The first time Terror Eel reaches that value or lower, it becomes Stunned. This interrupts the ordinary attack plan and creates a window for damage or setup. Check the visible threshold before deciding how much to spend on the current hit.

Crossing it with the last Energy of a weak hand can leave the next hand unable to finish the enemy. Crossing it with resources left or useful cards retained can make the interruption much more valuable. Waiting for a better transition is worthwhile only if the damage taken while waiting is affordable.

Prepare for Terrorize

After the Stun, Terrorize applies long-duration Vulnerable. The base attack pattern uses Crash and a smaller multi-hit Thrash with Vigor, but the Shriek interruption changes the sequence. Do not follow a fixed numbered-turn plan without checking the current state.

Vulnerable makes later attacks more dangerous. Use the Stun and non-attacking transition to deliver enough damage that the deck does not have to endure several enhanced attacks. A potion that finishes the Eel during that window can prevent more damage than saving it for an unrelated later fight.

Damage and mitigation before Shriek

A deck with a strong single attack may want to save it until the threshold opens the finishing sequence. A deck with mostly small attacks can use them to reach the threshold, but still needs enough output afterward.

Weak reduces the attacks after Terrorize; stronger Block or stored Osty health can cover a remaining hit. Compare those resources with the actual enhanced intent. A defense amount that was adequate before Vulnerable does not establish that the next Crash is safe.
