Osty’s HP and Unleash damage
In the Osty Necrobinder build, Unleash adds Osty’s current HP to its base attack. A large maximum HP value does not help this calculation if Osty has already lost most of that health. Summon before Unleash when the increase is affordable and the additional damage changes the result.
For example, at twenty current HP, the base card deals twenty-six damage before applicable modifiers. If Osty takes damage before the next Unleash, that later attack loses the same HP-based contribution. ## Draft support rather than every attack
Bodyguard improves the basic Summon supply. Spur, Dirge and other suitable support can increase the health available for a later hit. A deck can use Unleash as its main Osty attack while spending other picks on draw, Energy and defense. Adding another card with Osty’s name does not guarantee that it improves that plan. An attack with weak output at the current HP level can delay the Summon card needed to make Unleash effective.
The upgrade increases Unleash’s base contribution by three. It does not multiply Osty’s HP contribution. A Bodyguard upgrade may serve two purposes when the deck needs more protection and a healthier Osty for attacks; an Unleash upgrade is more direct when the existing Summon is already sufficient. Check the enemy’s intent and Osty’s current health before committing Energy to growth that cannot survive until the planned attack.
