Double Snecko is awarded for obtaining both Snecko Eye and Snecko Eye??? in one run. It is a collection challenge rather than a requirement to win with a specific deck. The badge can appear on winning or losing runs.

The real eye supplies two additional cards at the start of each turn and starts combat with Confused. The fake eye supplies Confused without the extra draw. Collecting the fake does not turn the real eye’s two-card bonus into four cards, and having two similarly named relics does not establish a stronger build by itself.

The route has two independent offers

Required pieceWhere to seek itWhat is still uncertain
Real Snecko EyeAn available Darv giftDarv and the particular offer must appear.
Snecko Eye???The Merchant???The event must appear and select the eye among its offers.

The fake Merchant is restricted to single-player, from Act 2 onward, and requires at least 100 Gold or a carried Foul Potion. Meeting that condition does not force the event to spawn. Holding the right potion preserves a possibility, not a guaranteed route.

His stock selects six knockoffs from a pool of nine. The fake eye is only one member of that pool. You can therefore meet the eligibility condition, find the impostor and still not receive the required offer. Do not spend more resources on the assumption that the next question mark must finish the challenge.

Real eye first makes the fake eye easier to evaluate

If the real Snecko Eye already fits the run, the fake offer becomes mainly a collection decision. You already play with Confused, and the second eye supplies no additional draw. A player question on Steam confirms the badge interaction and that Confusion does not stack into a second ordinary copy of the same benefit.

If the fake eye appears first, accepting it is a much larger commitment. A hand built around nominally free cards can become unreliable when those costs change, without the real eye’s additional draw to compensate. The real eye might never appear later. Consider whether you can continue the actual run with the fake effect alone before taking it for a future possibility.

A deck with expensive useful cards can have a different relationship with randomized costs from a deck whose output depends on many zero-cost plays. Read the current hand costs and preserve enough draw and defense for a bad roll. This is a reason to adapt the deck after acquiring an eye, not a rule to take every expensive reward.

Buying the fake eye versus fighting for it

The fake Merchant sells relics instead of normal cards and removals. Purchase the eye directly if it is offered and the price leaves the run functional. Prices vary, so use the displayed cost rather than planning around one exact total. Normal shop restocking and discount expectations should not be transferred to this event.

Throwing a Foul Potion at the impostor starts a fight. Winning gives 300 Gold, the Merchant’s Rug??? and the relics still available on the rug. That can make the eye obtainable without buying it first, but only when it was actually among that encounter’s stock and you survive the fight. The potion is consumed and the combat is a real risk.

Throwing the same potion at the real Merchant instead gives 100 Gold. It does not expose the fake Merchant somewhere else or award a missing eye. The Foul Potion comparison explains the two destinations and their different results.

Collect the relic instead of merely seeing it

An easily missed step is the reward selection. A player who already had the real eye reported defeating the impostor, then skipping the redundant fake eye; that left the pair incomplete. The mechanical redundancy is precisely why the second copy is easy to overlook.

After the fight, inspect the actual required name. Snecko Eye??? is the knockoff. Snecko Skull affects Poison, and Snecko Oil changes a hand; neither substitutes for an eye. Owning one eye twice is also not the described objective. You need the real and fake versions.

Shop budget and upcoming fights

Gold held for event eligibility cannot also buy a removal at the preceding shop. A Foul Potion occupies a slot which might otherwise carry immediate defense. Before preserving either resource, compare it with the next compulsory fight. Keeping an unneeded collector’s option is costly if it prevents you from reaching the act where that option can matter.

Once both eyes are obtained, further risky event hunting is unnecessary for this badge. Continue using the actual deck and resources you have. A win is still valuable, but it is not an extra hidden condition on Double Snecko. The badge directory separates its requirement from the challenges that explicitly require a winning run.
