Potion of Doom can accelerate the Doom build before its cards have built a large stack. It applies 33 Doom to one enemy. That is not an immediate 33-damage hit: Doom follows its own execution condition, so compare the enemy’s remaining HP with the resulting stack before planning the rest of the turn.
Potion of Doom and No Escape
Unupgraded No Escape adds 10 Doom plus 5 for every 10 already on the target. A potion applied first can therefore improve the card’s scaling as well as supplying its own Doom. Against an enemy starting at zero Doom, the potion establishes three full groups of ten for that calculation. Check for Artifact or other relevant powers before counting the application as successful.
Time’s Up is a different payoff: it deals damage equal to the enemy’s Doom. Building the stack before playing it can turn a delayed plan into damage this turn. Do not confuse that card’s direct damage with the potion’s effect.
The potion is also useful outside a fully committed Doom deck when its 33 points help finish a dangerous enemy. Against multiple enemies it only prepares one target. Decide whether removing that target sooner matters more than saving the bottle for a boss, especially if your next draw may arrive too late.
