Focus and empty Orb slots

Defragment grants Focus; it does not Channel an Orb. Coolheaded Channels Frost and draws a card. Those actions solve different shortages: one improves eligible Orb output, the other puts an Orb into the slots and moves through the deck.

If the slots are empty, spending the last available Energy on Focus can leave the current attack unanswered. If the slots already contain Frost, the same Power can improve repeated passive defense. Count the current slots and the turn’s attack rather than rating the two cards independently.

Dualcast and passive Block

Dualcast Evokes the rightmost Orb twice. Using it on Frost can help with an immediate hit, but the Orb is consumed, changing the passive defense available afterward. If it targets a different rightmost Orb, the result is different again.

Focus does not increase Plasma’s Energy. The Frost strategy separates defensive stabilization, Focus access and the damage required to finish the fight.
