Liquid Memories targeting

Liquid Memories returns one chosen card from discard to hand and makes it free for the current turn. It does not search the draw pile, recover an exhausted card, or permanently discount every copy with the same name.

Check the discard pile before planning the rescue. If the needed defense was played earlier this turn, the potion can give it another use without paying its ordinary energy cost. If that defense is still undrawn, a different access effect is needed. Hologram has the same pile distinction but does not include the potion’s free-this-turn benefit.

Retrieval does not count as drawing. That makes it relevant when Fiddle prevents mid-turn draws: moving a selected card into hand can still solve a turn that another draw effect cannot. Read the returned card for any conditions or additional costs before relying on it.

The turn limit is important. Saving or retaining the returned card does not turn Liquid Memories into Touch of Insanity, whose stated discount lasts the combat. Use the retrieval when the specific replay changes the current damage, defense or setup outcome rather than drinking it simply to move a card.
