Fiddle and card retrieval
Fiddle grants two extra cards at turn start and prevents drawing during your turn. A larger starting hand does not preserve a deck that needs to chain mid-turn draws. Battle Trance, Acrobatics and Unceasing Top cannot provide their usual access through that restriction.
Moving a chosen card into hand is different from drawing. Steam players specifically asked whether Regent could still obtain Sovereign Blade. Summon Forth puts that card into hand from anywhere, so its retrieval does not depend on a draw. All for One similarly returns qualifying cards from discard rather than drawing them.
Count how many cards in the current deck become less useful before accepting the relic. An extra two cards early in the turn can be valuable when the deck already has enough resources to play them. It does not compensate automatically for losing several later draws or an entire draw-based engine.
When evaluating a related effect, read its verb and timing. Start-of-turn access, card creation, retrieval and drawing during your turn are separate mechanisms. The opening-hand guide explains how to compare access with energy and immediate defense.
