Poison application and consumption
Noxious Fumes applies two Poison to all enemies at the start of your turn, or three when upgraded. Accelerant makes Poison trigger an additional time; its upgrade adds two additional triggers. Application and repeated damage are separate effects.
Poison stacks are also consumed as the effect triggers. A small recurring application therefore needs a closer look before you count it as endlessly growing damage. Extra triggers can improve immediate damage while using the available stack more quickly.
Application, acceleration and defense
If the stack is already large, another trigger payoff can exploit it. If the stack remains small, additional application or an upgrade to the recurring source may contribute more than another payoff. Defense determines whether the deck can wait for the next application.
The Poison strategy develops this tradeoff and separates short encounters from bosses. Do not use an old first-game Poison build list as proof that every sequel card has the same role or acquisition path.
