Two sources of Block

After base Feel No Pain is active, each card Exhausted by base Second Wind contributes Second Wind’s 5 Block and Feel No Pain’s 3 Block. Exhausting three eligible cards gives 24 Block from those two effects before Dexterity or other modifiers. The example assumes three non-Attack cards are actually Exhausted.

Second Wind does not clear Attacks from the hand. If the hand is mostly Attacks, this combination cannot be counted as a fixed amount of defense. Check the actual eligible cards before spending the Energy.

Exhausted cards and later defense

Exhausting weak cards improves the later cycle, but consuming the only remaining defensive options can leave a long boss fight short of answers. The immediate Block and the later deck are separate decisions.

Dark Embrace can add draw to the Exhaust events, creating another connected effect. That benefit is subject to draw restrictions and to which cards remain available. See Exhaust strategy for setup timing and the finite-skill problem.
