Child of the Stars’ spending trigger
In the Star Regent build, Child of the Stars rewards the amount of Stars actually spent. Spending three Stars supplies six Block from the base Power or nine from the upgrade, before other applicable effects. Gaining three Stars and leaving them in the bank supplies no Block from this Power that turn.
When both resources are scarce, count the full sequence: the Energy to deploy Child, the card that gains Stars and the card that spends them. A hand that has only the first two steps cannot rely on the payoff yet.
Star-cost cards
Particle Wall provides repeated access to a Star payment and its own Block while returning to hand. It remains limited by your available Stars. An expensive Star attack can also produce Block through Child, allowing a damage play to contribute defense, but only if the hand can afford its actual cost.
The upgrade increases the Block per Star from two to three. Improve Star access or draw first if the Power often sits active without any payable card.
Black Hole rewards gain and spend events with area damage; Child rewards Star expenditure with defense. When a cost-reduction effect makes a Star card free, do not budget Child’s Block as though its normal Star cost were still being paid.
