Bag of Preparation helps the Exhaust build and Soul build find their opening pieces before the enemy’s first attack. Its two extra cards arrive at combat start. They improve the first hand; they do not add two cards to every later turn.
Opening-hand draw and Energy
An opening Feel No Pain matters when the rest of the hand can Exhaust cards. Drawing seven expensive cards with three Energy still leaves difficult choices. Before buying more draw, ask whether the deck needs an earlier Power, cheaper defense, or Energy to use the cards already available. The opening-hand guide explains that distinction.
Count cards added by other opening effects too. A hand full of generated cards can crowd out useful choices, and the ten-card hand limit makes the order of these effects important. Extra opening draw should not be treated as an unlimited invitation to add more starting-hand cards.
For Regent’s Forge build, seeing a Forge card and a way to use the Sword together is more useful than seeing either alone. For Osty, an early Summon card can establish protection immediately. Bag supports these plans without committing the deck to one damage mechanic.
