Status generation, payoffs and removal

A Status package needs three separate checks: what creates the Status, what rewards that creation, and what happens when the card returns in a later hand. Boost Away grants Block and puts Dazed into discard. TURBO grants energy and puts Void there. Overclock draws and adds Burn. Their immediate effects can be useful before a dedicated engine exists.

Smokestack and Trash to Treasure reward creating Status cards. Iteration rewards drawing a Status later. Flak Cannon and Compact process the cards already present. A generator, a creation payoff and a cleanup card are not interchangeable roles. Drafting another payoff does not fix a deck that can no longer draw a usable hand.

Statuses in the next draw cycle

Cards placed in discard do not occupy the current Draw Pile immediately. This makes a short fight different from a boss that lasts several cycles. A resource card can end a hallway fight before its added Status is ever drawn; repeating the same play in a longer fight can leave a growing amount of pollution behind.

Dazed, Burn and Void also have different rules. Do not summarize them all as harmless dead draws. Read the individual reference entries before adding a second generator. The deck-size guide explains why cards created during combat change the repeating deck without changing the starting list.

Drawing, generating and Exhausting Statuses

Smokestack rewards the act of creating a Status. Drawing an enemy’s old Status card is a different event. Iteration is limited to its first qualifying Status draw each turn; drawing several does not mean every one produces the same bonus. Rocket Punch becomes cheaper when you create a Status, but its discount is not a refund of energy spent earlier.

If Rocket Punch is in hand beside a generator, compare the sequence before playing either. A generator played first can change the attack’s payable cost. Playing the attack first at its ordinary cost can waste resources that the same hand could have saved.

Cleanup timing

Flak Cannon Exhausts your Status cards across the combat piles and converts them into hits. Compact instead transforms Status cards in hand into Fuel. Compact therefore needs those cards to be in the hand at the same time; it cannot process a Burn still waiting in discard.

Cleanup can also remove resources that a later effect hoped to use. Flak Cannon before a new wave of generation leaves the new Status cards behind, while generating first increases what it can consume. Check whether the larger payoff is needed now or whether an immediate attack is safer.

Damage alongside Status control

A Japanese A10 player’s account separates these same jobs and warns against treating the package as an automatic win condition. Use the immediate resources to support Claw, Lightning or another functioning attack plan when those are the cards offered. A rare Flak Cannon with no Status supply is not a reason to spend every future reward chasing the missing half.
