Shuriken gives the Shiv build and Claw build a second source of damage growth. Play three Attack cards in one turn to gain 1 Strength. The trigger counts cards played, so a single Attack that hits several times is still one Attack toward that threshold.
Shuriken’s three-Attack trigger
Look at how many Attacks you can actually play before spending Energy on draw. A Blade Dance supplies three Shivs, making one complete trigger if you play them all. Hologram can recover an Attack for a later play, but Hologram itself is a Skill and does not advance the counter.
Strength gained during the turn benefits subsequent attacks. If an inexpensive Attack completes a group of three, playing it before a multi-hit Attack can increase the damage of each later hit. Do not sacrifice required Block just to complete a trigger; the extra Strength only helps if you survive to use it.
Kunai and Ornamental Fan reward the same three-Attack pattern with different defensive benefits. Shuriken supplies Strength, so a deck that already produces many cheap attacks may gain scaling without adding another expensive Power. The Strength build can use it too, provided its turns contain enough separate Attack plays.
